Convenience. That is the best word to describe DeLand’s Crystal Cove subdivision. This community may be one of the most convenient places to live in the city. It is located at the corner of McGregor Road and Crystal Oak Drive and is within walking distance of the shops of Country Club Corners that include Publix, Starbucks, and soon, Chick-fil-A. Access to Interstate 4 is less than ten minutes away and Downtown DeLand is about 5 minutes away.
The convenience factor is echoed by longtime Crystal Cove residents, Lavon and Sue Wilson. The Wilson’s have lived in the subdivision for 15 years. Currently, they are the longest residents in Crystal Cove. The couple thought about selling their home and moving somewhere else now that their children have grown and moved out. However, they love having close access to shopping, their church and be able to be on I-4 in minutes.
“We love the convenience,” says Lavon Wilson. “Its why we have stayed here as long as we have.” Safety is also important to the Wilson’s. “We have great neighbors. We help each other out and check on our homes if we are on vacation. There is a true feeling of safety and community. Its great!”
When the Wilsons purchased their home, Swann & Associates realtor Sam Lee handled the transaction. Fifteen years later, they are just as happy as the first day they moved in!
Crystal Cove has low HOA fees of about $500 per year. It is zoned for Woodward Avenue Elementary, Southwestern Middle School and DeLand High School.
