Since the invention of the smartphone, apps have made our lives easier in many different ways. From health to personal finance to social media, there are probably a handful of apps that you probably use on a regular basis.
Real estate is no exception. We as agents use various apps to help us run our business and stay on top of day-to-day tasks. However, these tools are not only helpful to agents, but can be very helpful to those looking to buy, sell or rent residential or commercial properties.
We thought we would put together a list of our 7 favorite apps that can be beneficial to you leading up to a real estate transaction.
1) Google Maps / Apple Maps
A mapping tool is a must-have for many real estate agents, but also has value to consumers also. Locating potential properties for driving directions and looking at aerial satellite images of properties are a few of the most useful features of Google Maps.
2) Zillow Mortgage Calculator
This easy-to-use tool can help you understand mortgage payments of a potential property including monthly or bi-weekly payment schedules as well as your future payoff date.
3) Sitegeist
This app gives great insight into any area. Wherever you are, it immediately provides data about the surrounding area including the average age of residents, political contributions, average temperature, commuting trends and popular nearby places. This tool can make or break properties in your search and can narrow the field.
4) Scannable
Scannable is a scanning app that will allow you to scan documents with the camera of your smartphone and store them as PDF documents. Definitely of value in the documentation stage of applying for a mortgage! Store real estate flyer listings and your mortgage documents all one place. This app works best with Evernote to store all documents in digital filing system that is stored in the cloud.
5) Realtor.com
Realtor.com is a very useful for anyone in the real estate market and provides a smooth and customized experience that is tailored to the needs of most. It is the only app to source directly from over 800 MLS listings nationwide with listings updated every 15 minutes.
6) Video/Camera App
Your smartphone’s native camera app can be one of the most practical tools in your real estate process. With it, you can take pictures of interior or exterior features of a home, or you can film a video walk through, letting a qualified real estate agent narrate a home’s features for later viewing.
Finally, we do recommend our very own mobile friendly site to search listings in the DeLand area. Although all of these tools are helpful, nothing can beat the interaction of an expert that will help take you farther in your transaction process than you ever could on your own. Visit our mobile site on your smartphone and then simply store it on your home screen as a shortcut. And don’t hesitate to reach out to us to discuss your real estate needs!
