The fall season is finally underway in DeLand. Central Florida has already received it’s first “cold front” and the holidays are right around corner. It is a great time to live in Central Florida and an even greater time to visit. Thankfully, visitors now have an amazing new place to stay in Downtown DeLand. After several updates, we are proud to say the Courtyard Marriott is now open!
The Courtyard by Marriott DeLand Historic District in DeLand, Florida, opened Oct. 17. The 104-room full-service upscale hotel is within walking distance to Stetson University, restaurants and retail shops.
The beautiful hotel has a business library, an outdoor swimming pool, a patio with a fire pit, a fitness center and a guest laundry. It has more than 1,000 square feet of meeting space. The latest room design offers hybrid zones for working, sleeping, relaxing and getting ready. Indirect lighting and a neutral, tone-on-tone color palette makes for a soothing and calm environment.
The opening is just in time for several events in the near future such as the Stetson University Homecoming, the DeLand Christmas Parade and the holiday season.
It is expected that the opening of the hotel will also attract more visitors to DeLand’s award-winning downtown and other West Volusia attractions like Blue Spring and DeLeon Springs state parks, as well as SkyDive DeLand. Because of the nice views from the rooms with balconies, locals might book a room for the upcoming DeLand Christmas parade.
