The south side of DeLand is adding another grocery option to its lineup and not a single artificial preservative will be found. Earth Fare, a grocery chain focused on health, is renovating the space in the West Volusia Regional Shopping Center left vacant by Winn-Dixie last year. Across Orange Camp Road from Publix at County Club Corners, Earth Fare will become a second grocery store option for south DeLand.

Earth Fare, based in Asheville, NC, currently has 14 stores in the state of Florida – Orlando, Ocala, and Gainesville are the closest to this new location. With a focus on organic, sustainable products, Earth Fare pride themselves on a “Food Philosophy” which is food that is free of added hormones, artificial fats and trans-fats, artificial sweeteners, bleached or bromated flour, antibiotics, high fructose corn syrup, artificial preservatives, and artificial colors or flavors.

Another feature of Earth Fare’s stores is their “Grab & Go” for healthy, fresh, delicious food – offering home-cooked meals for busy lives. These homemade options adhere to their “Food Philosophy” offering organic, cage-free, non-GMO choices. There are sides made from scratch, take and bake pizzas, and more. According to the store’s website, select stores also offer grocery delivery through Instacart. Instacart is offered at Publix and rivals Walmart’s in-house delivery service.

As more development is planned in the Victoria subdivisions, this additional shopping opportunity should be a welcome addition.
