Five Commercial Construction Updates You Need To Know About, Including Chick-fil-A.

Commercial business and development in DeLand continues to grow and prosper. There are several things happening  in the area, and we thought we would give you an update on the top five projects that are under way. ​

• ​Chick-fil-A. Pictured above, the popular chicken sandwich chain has finally broken ground in DeLand, next door to the CentraCare location(below) and the Publix shopping center at Country Club Corners. Sources tell us that the grand opening will take place as early as January of 2017. 
• CentraCare. For those that have gone to one of the urgent care locations owned by Florida Hospital, you are aware of the top quality medical care they provide. DeLand residents don’t have to wait much longer. The location on S. Woodland Blvd. is expected to open late this year.

Denny’s. It has been several years since DeLand had a Denny’s restaurant. The new location is where the former Holiday House was located on N. Woodland Blvd. According to the sign in the parking lot, the restaurant is currently training new employees and is expected open August 28. 

Marriott Hotel. The construction in Downtown DeLand is well under way. This hotel will complement the downtown business district well and will be a convenient location for those that visit Stetson University. At this point, we are unclear as to an opening date, but will keep you posted.  

Aspen Dental and Mattress Firm (Former Hamptons Location). Hamptons was a popular restaurant in DeLand for several years and was located on the corner of International Speedway Blvd. and Amelia Ave. Earlier this year, the property was sold to a developer and construction has begun on the building that will house an Aspen Dental location and  a Mattress Firm. Completion is expected by late this year.
