If you haven’t been in town for a while, DeLand has a few new establishments that continue to differentiate our city, adding to its charm and uniqueness. We wanted to give a quick update on a few new places in town. We hope you will check them out and support these local businesses for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or coffee.
The Table. This restaurant is at the former location of Mac’s on Main and the Mainstreet Grill, at the corner of Woodland Blvd. and New York Ave. The Table offers southern style comfort food that is sure to satisfy your hunger. The restaurant has experienced rave reviews from the community. Check it out for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Twisted Chopstick. Located in the DaVinci Design Studio building on Howry Ave. is the Twisted Chopstick, a takeout and delivery sushi restaurant. Craving sushi for lunch? Give them a call or order on Facebook. Their selection is typical of some sushi bars, but they offer some unique items such as their customized Pokebowl and sushi donuts.
Campus Grounds. This new coffee shop is located on Woodland Blvd, next to YOLO restaurant and bar. Other than a great cup of coffee, the restaurant features breakfast and lunch sandwiches. The open space environment is great for students or anyone that wants to plug in their laptop for a few hours of work while enjoying a cup of joe. With late hours and close proximity to Stetson University, this shop is already a hit among college students.
Pho Co. Noodle House. As the name implies, this new Vietnamese restaurant features pho, a Vietnamese noodle soup, which is available with a variety of meats and is served with a plate of fresh Thai basil sprigs, sliced jalapeños and limes. English speakers may be tempted to say “foe,” but the word is actually pronounced “fuh.” The dish originated from Northern Vietnam, and was popularized throughout the world by Vietnamese refugees after the Vietnam War. Pho Co. is located at 111 N. Woodland Blvd., DeLand.
Smoothie King. Looking for something quicker than a meal but just as filling? DeLand now has a Smoothie King franchise. This place invented the smoothie bar. Literally! Located at the Country Club Crossings shopping center, Smoothie King is a welcome site to the health conscious citizens of DeLand.
