We have a few more commercial updates for the month of September. On North Woodland Blvd, a new Subway restaurant is being built next to the current location. According to the West Volusia Beacon, the new restaurant is expected to be completed and open by this fall.
The other update is a second Pet Supermarket store on South Woodland Blvd, next to Publix in the Country Club Corners shopping center, and will be about 7,500 square feet, according to city planners. Currently the chain of pet-care supplies has a store at 1511 N. Woodland Blvd., which has been there for about five years. However, the new store could get some competition next year in the pet supplies market.
According to the West Volusia Beacon, a spokeswoman for PetSmart said the Phoenix-based chain plans to open a store in DeLand by next summer, but declined to say exactly where it would be located.
